Drifter House 2: Melody Simson-Part 1

Melody Simson has become a young adult, and she is excited to begin her adventure on her new land. She loves her big close nit family but is looking forward to making her own way in the world. She understands why her mom wanted a big family and made it her whole life but she wanted something different for her life. She wanted to start a career. However, first she had to get started. It wasn’t much but it was all hers.

She figured the first place she better start was trying to catch herself some food as she had no money.

Luckily she had a beautiful fish hole right on the back of her land.

Unfortunately with no fishing skills she didn’t have much luck so she tried another trick her mom had mentioned and went searching her new neighborhood for anything she might sell to buy some basic necessities.

This included wildlife.

While she was out searching the neighborhood she found a community garden that had some wonderful fresh harvestable and a bench.

She was a bit disappointed with her hall for the day but she did manage to find enough sellable items to buy a toilet which was much needed, and enough harvestable food to not starve, so she figured it could have been worse.

She was exhausted so she made her way to the bench and promptly fell asleep.

When Mel woke up the next day she was feeling a bit discouraged and exhausted and thought about calling her mom and dad for help but then decided, her mom had done it and she was determined to succeed too. She would buckle down and make herself a success without asking for help. With that in mind she buckled down and spent days Collecting and fishing to save money.

She even started her own small garden.

Thankfully, her brothers stopped by regularly to visit her which help stave off the loneliness that she was feeling.

All the hard work paid off....

and before long she had managed to gather enough money to purchase her bare necessities.

And she had a visit from her mom and dad.

She was so proud to show her mom her progress and that she was making it on her own.

While exploring herneighborhood, she found a beautiful glade.....

with abundant fishing and tons of flowers and fruits to harvest.

Mel decided that she had found some stability and it was time to look for a job so she could start on her new career and start bringing in a steady income to improve her living situation. She found an entry level job at the local police station and couldn’t wait to start.

Mel spent her work days: collecting evidence at crime scenes,

Taking witness statements,

and analyzing the evidence back at the station.

Before filing the evidence in the system,

Then processing criminals at the booking station.

After a while her Chief started sending her on patrol where she was able to chat with civilians and had to break up fights and issue citations.

After what seemed like only a short time Mel was able to issue her first APB which lead to her first Arrest.

Who she then took back to the station and booked.

She absolutely loved her job. But after a while she realized that she needed to get and stay in good shape to make it as an officer, and started a workout routine.

With all of this Mel started feeling seriously stressed and was so relieved when her brother called her to invite her to a party at the Von Haunt Estate.

She had a great night of socializing and fun dancing and drinks.

The next day while she was at the community garden she met a guy named Arnold Houchin. They talked and became friends. It was completely unexpected but she really liked him.
